Two teachers, each with 25 years in the Argentine tradition, shall demystify and simplify this seductive, sensual, intoxicating dance discipline. Individual attention and assistance.
Terri O'Keefe of Wyckoff, NJ and Richard Stevens of NYC have been studying and dancing Argentine tango since 1983. In those early years, after the show, “Tango Argentino” arrived in NYC, there were few teachers and very little interest in Argentine tango or venues where dancing tango could be found and enjoyed anywhere in the USA.
Terri and Richard traveled to Argentina to find milongueros willing to share their tango skills. Their first Argentine tango instructors included Jose` Vazquez (Lampazo), Pupi Costello and Pepito Avellaneda as well as some classes with the then unknown Carlos Gavito.
Learning tango is an ongoing actvity and experience.
Their tango skills were recognized with a Carlos Gardel plaque and certificate from the New Jersey Center for Argentine Culture.
In the 2009 New York Musical Theater Festival they danced together in the show, “Argentina Passionate” and in 2010 Richard was nominated for best choreography in the festival show, “11 Seconds of Ecstasy”.
On TV News Channel 12 they gave an “Introduction to Argentine Tango”. 2 for Tango, Inc. has been featured in articles appearing in The Bergen Record, Ridgewood News, the Spanish language newspaper, Su Guia and Bergen Health and Life magazine.
WARNING: The tango can be addictive. There is no known cure.
Classes are held at the Center for Modern Dance Education 84 Euclid Ave, Hackensack, NJ 07601
